Changes to the local bus services introduced in August 2025 badly affected workers, young people and the elderly, as bus services were cut, bus stops removed, routes changed and the operating times and frequencies reduced.
Wisdom helped advocate for residents around the Willows, the Kings Road and Wolf Lane, requesting RBWM create more sensible and usable bus services.
We have been successful in improving the Saturday bus service for No. 1 and restoring the use of the bus stop at the foot of Ruddlesway for No. 16, with an hourly bus service.
We want more improvements, including a pedestrian crossing across Maidenhead Road so you can get to the bus stop safely, more frequent buses, going to useful places, for more of the day and night.
EXCITING UPDATE
Carole and Wisdom met with officers from Highways and Neighbourhood Services/Public Safety on site, beginning the detailed work which will result in a crossing point to take residents from the reinstated Ruddlesway bus and the Willows Path, safely over the A308 (Windsor Road), to the Willows Riverside Park and ALL the new houses at the former Squires and those being built now. We would like to thank officers for finding the resource to support public health, safety, and well-being issues, and also help us reduce our carbon footprint. ππΎππ»
